Used a Metal Elevated Platform for Blind?

Anyone used one like this? Big Game Booster or other type metal platform that allows you to add a Double Bull blind on top? I'm contemplating using one for both bowhunting and a rifle stand for my kids.

I'd like to build my own wooden ones (4-6ft tall) but the landowner doesn't like anything wooden out there that could be left to rot away if we leave the lease.

Just want to know how sturdy they are, quiet, and how they last in the elements? Other options or brands are welcome too. Thanks for opinions

We have some homemade ones that keep(jim) made. They aren't that tall but have "sleeves" on the base so you can make them different heights with diff drill stem lengths if you want.

In a strong wind the only sound you hear is the popup flapping in the wind. Hunted with one like this last year and the wind was a problem.

We had it setup in a grove of trees and the popping noise was an issue with deer at 25 yards. They never got used to it and did not like it!

It was nice...a double bull or a heavier pop up may solve the issue though. Or just don't hunt it on windy days!

We take 1x2s and nail them around the edges to keep the blind secure. Let me see if I can find a pic.

I used a hay ring to elevate my pop up, around 5ft tall if wind is an issue...

So you put boards across the hay ring and blind on top?

put carpet or horse stall mats on the grating to help with wind and noise
usually need to brace the frame with guy wires also.(at least I do in Kansas)

I built a 7 x 7 wood platform and bolted it on top of that metal tower, set the double bull on it and secured it down with 1x2 strips of lumber over the flaps on the tent, worked pretty good.

Yes sir, (4) 2x8s across it and then 2 sheets of 5x8 plywood on top, about $55 at home depot. I'm in a bottom and don't get much wind so I just screwed the 4 corner flaps of the pop up into the plywood.

I had a guy make me another one 5ft tall that I'm gonna put a redneck blind on top of to rifle hunt out of.

It wouldnt be hard to elevate them a little more either, with blocks or some simple wood legs or something...I'm all about cheap!

Nice ^. I like that idea. Now, if I can get the farmer to let me borrow a hay ring!! Ha
