That's been a proven fact since B&C has been around. Per B&C the average throughout the book is
10% spread
20% mass
30% main beam lengths
40% tine lengths
(Obviously there are some exceptions)
Also if a bucks spreads is wider than his main beam length that total spread credit will not go into his score. It can be no wider than main beam length. I can't remember right off if it's the shortest or longest main beam. That's Pope & Young as well.
