I would think the ONLY reason to go 2cm would be price. Thinner building materials will never look more lux in my book.

We are in the process of installing granite in our lake house, of course my wife picks out the most expensive stone in the place, it will take a total of 4 slabs, three for the kitchen, bar, and master bath, the other slab will do two baths and the laundry room. We are going with the squared off edge in the kitchen/bar and a beveled edge in the other rooms. I should have just done concrete tops, could have done that myself, no telling what it may have turned out like.

Have any pics of this? I'm guessing it's way cheaper? How about weight?

As far as I know, the most recent 'trend' is towards the textured top....of course it's what we just installed
Moving into the new house in a few weeks and got bids for the textured that I didnt even know existed. It already has granite ... geesh.
