The whats your real name brought up a topic that I have been wanting to post about a while. It seem do we really know who you think you know??/
What if the guy you think is cool,, has great info ,lots of experience and seems to know what he's talking about is a child molester??/Hmm makes you think dont it..... Well that happened to me this year,had a guy met at the feed store,,me being a trusty and kinda thinking this guys ok... started letting him hunt with me,then I did a neihgbor search and he pops up....what to do know,,I comfronted him and oh he tells me it was an accident,, sorry he was convicted,,I wanted to kill him as he had talked to my daughter,,,Do You Know who your hunting with???

Hey Tim,

This is something that a lot of people risk within their own families. Sometimes you won't hear from cousin Ron or something for a while then he shows up on your door step. Although I have never knowingly gone through this, I am guessing it is a risk that everyone takes.

I will not stop being nice to folks or trying to make friends, but this day in age I always sleep with one eye open

Wow! That would definitely be a bummer for sure. I have always hunted with close friends or others they knew. Even on draw hunts I have had friends go with me.

It is deep.. but it really makes a person think...As a parent that has adopted and also as parents of a new born son...it is deep.I just want to warn people,,to make sure they know who your kids may be around,..Its sad but its true.

We had a similair thing at my work 1 time.Needless to say my wife and kids were off limits till he was gone.I dont think he would have done anything but if he did I would be the one in prison for killing some sicko.

You did the right thing Tim, background serch, then confront. I had a near same experiance when my boy was 5 and my daughter was 6. Twenty years ago. And reading about your post still brings unsetteling.... well, you know.

According to my county Sherrif's office, I got several living in a 3 block reigion of me now. So I always keep an eye out for strange persons in the neigbor hood.

Kinda know the feeling. Had a guy, his wife and teenage daughter move in next door about a year ago. He never really said much to me, every once in awhile he would wave, but that would be about it. They moved about a month ago and my other neighbor told me that she saw that he child molester had moved. I told her that I didn't know this and she said she would have told me but thought it wouldn't be fair to the guy because I'm a cop. Geez!!!! He was convicted of sexual contact with a 12-year old girl. Wish I'd known, but I keep a close eye on my two grandkids, they were never outside alone.....Bob

Oh, I know all about it! My fraternity brother is now in TDCJ in Liberty County for contact with a youth. He will never be able to practice law again. I have visited him 3 times in as many years but cannot do it anymore. His plan is to move outta the country once released since he will NEVER be able to function here! Such a freakin waste of talent!

I work for a large Engineering company & found out last year that a guy on my project was on the sex offender list. Scary. He was one weird/loner dude that just seemed to fit the profile too.
