Looks like an ideal design to turn into a home. Have you considered reversing the powder room door swing to out? Adding a door to the master commode room may not be important to you, but would be to almost all of the market if/when you sell.
We have a builder, but he's a friend of ours. You know the time table gets stressful but we just keep saying this is only a couple of months for a house that will be here or whole lifetime.
And I can't wait to see the floors once they are sealed. We do have one spot that looks like crap. I think it's because I had to use a bunch of cleaner to remove some red chalk lines in the concrete. The cleaner worked great everywhere else on the other chalk lines and pencil marks but that so was stubborn. Of coarse it's right when you enter the back door
Not much last week, the painters came back and touched up everything outside. So now outside paint is done! Sheetrock was delivered too. Then nothing for several days...
Until yesterday
Stone guys came in and blew me away. By quitting time, they had all the wainscoting done except the top copeing. And started on the columns. If everything goes as planned today they will also start the fireplace.
Speaking of fireplace, it's in! No more hole in the roof. Well, hole is still there but now has a pipe and flashing. So no more leaks
Sheetrock guys are here and got all of the ceiling downstairs done and some of the walls. Not bad for just 2 guys.
And finally the spray foam is done. They were waiting on sheetrock for the interior walls that border the garage so they could spray in there. So the garage is completely sealed! Should be moving that big spray foam truck out today.
So rock and sheetrock guys said they will be around until Thursday. So I'm sure I'll have more pics this weekend
Like everything else, Sheetrock hasn't gone as planned, got the downstairs hung, and started on the upstairs. They ran out. Well delivery is in so hopefully they show up today
I got the dog's room paneled b4 they sheetrock up the area and I can't get anything in.
And the stone is beautiful, but it's really messy. This was the last of the rubble. It was around the entire house like this that's what I did most of this weekend
Well, Sheetrock WAS delivered, but apparently 1 of the 2 guys in the crew went in for hernia surgery. Ouch.
So we got a new crew out of Austin to cone hang the rest. That happened last Thursday. Sat the tape and float crew started. Looked like this when they left
They came back again yesterday. Said he should be done with texture and all by Thursday. So I'm guessing that really means sometime in the next week or so sheetrock should be done
In the weeks we've been idle I've been fighting with all the dirt ruining off. Didn't rain as much as in Houston but we still got a bunch. Just b4 the epic rains I got some grass down
It held up good, I was surprised
Borrowed a little tractor from my dad, (I need to get one now) to move some dirt around and to clear a section of yopons out so we can get the septic sprinklers in.
Still have more to clear but I'm over the halfway point
Built up the dirt on one side for access to the outhouse and eventual outdoor shower
then I've added some grass and smoothed everything out
Also built up the other side for a patio, hang out area that will lead to the smoker
They got done with sheetrock including texture last Saturday
We cleaned up the garage and moved in our cabinets from the old house. Going to maybe install the upper ones this coming weekend. Not to many people can say they have a sheetrock and textured garage. Ha ha
And on Tuesday they started bringing cabinets in!! Feels like we are getting close.
Sound be here today with the rest. Maybe starting on trim tomorrow
Feels like the longest build in history. We are getting antsy. Summer is coming, weather is nice, and the rv is small.
