Fun mountain. Try skiing one night if they still have that--can get icy though.

Would also take a day on Breck if you have the time.

Anything in Colorado is > NM.

Keystone is one of, if not my favorite places to ski. Be sure to ski at night if you can. Choose a night with no wind and preferably good snow. Also you gotta ski the Outback. Lots and lots and lots and lots of good trails with many through the trees.

I agree with Colorado being better. We went to Durango two years ago. Great mountain! !! It cost me millions of dollars though. I caught twin girls while I was there.

How well do you and the other members of your party do with altitude? I'm a flat lander so choose to look for places that have lodging at 8000' or less. I skied Breck a lot until I discovered Utah. Fly into Salt Lake and be at any one of a number of ski areas in 45 minutes. Also the Salt Lake airport is less subject to being closed by a ginormus storm.

Like Keystone. But I prefer A Basin.

You can ski Breck during the day and use same lift ticket to ski Keystone at night. Makes for a good work out for us flat landers. Both are good.

We did this a time or two. You can also run over and ski Vail if you want.

We went to Breck about 6-7 years back and I skipped out on the night stuff at Keystone. They went down the mountain one time and said **** THAT!, said it was freezing cold and the shadows play tricks on you. I guess it's harder to see the dips in the terrain and they had a few falls. Lol

I prefer Angel Fire or Taos in NM and Breck in CO. Breck is HUGE, it's like 4 mountains IIRC. I need to snowboard keystone at least once. We flew into Denver from DFW when we went and drove the 3 hours or whatever it was to Breck. When we go to AF/Taos or to Wolf Creek in CO, we drive (10 hours and 14 hours respectively).

Have you already done Taos or AF?

if you get a lift passes for breck, it includes-vail, A basin, and keystone. would definitely recommend night skiing, just make sure you bundle up, goggles have lighter lenses, and watch out for ice, other than that the night skiing is a total blast. so much fun in that area, going back in january and probably will for the next few years straight just cause there are so many trails.
