Bone View SD card reader for android

Got mine in the mail today. So far....very pleased.

Just follow the directions and download the file reader/transfer app.

Open the app to the homepage

Put your SD card in the reader and plug it into your phone. Wait for the USB DRIVE folder to show up on the app.

Navigate to your pics through the DCIM folder and whatever folders are in there to get to the actual pics.

From there you can view, copy, delete, save, select all. The app also makes it easy to create a folder. I created TRAIL CAMS folder under Device Storage. Then a folder with today's date. Copied the pics there.

I timed the file transfer and it transferred 49 pics per minute from the card to my phone. The pics were approx. 1.15 MB each. Pretty good transfer rate.

Can you look at video as well or only pictures?

Yes....download the app MX PLAYER and you can view videos too.

Now you can go back to camp or get in the stand and delete the ones you don't want.

Will it let you select a picture and then scroll through them without having to go back and click on each thumbnail individually? Without downloading all the pics to your phone?

I don't think so. I just click on a pic, look at it, hit the back button on my phone, then click on the next pic. Almost as fast as scrolling. No lag time. I don't get a lot of pics so it's perfect for me to download all then put the card back in the camera, format it, and get out of there.

Thanks for the review - mine should arrive today. Question - if I have an Otterbox on my phone, will I need to get an extender so I can plug it in without taking the case off?

I'm not sure, Jerp. I have a samsung s6 Active with a slim case. The prong thingy looks like a standard charger length. I bet it will work.

I have a USB card reader I got for a couple bucks on ebay and can look at my pics download and erase them but have to download them to scroll. Was hoping maybe the app would solve that.
