    Need Help

I have toyed with this for awhile and I am not sure what else I can do. I hate having to bring this up on a public forum, but I've tried everything else I know to do.

I dropped off a buck for John aka Bone_Thief to mount for me in 2013. I know he had some family issues in 2014 and that may have kept him out of commission, but I have been trying to call and get my deer back from him for the past 8 months with no return phone call or text. I assume the deer is not done and just want the horns back at this point. Does anyone know him or have any advice?

Man I'm sorry to hear that. Kinda ironic that his name on here is Bone_Thief

I had a similar situation with the buck in my profile picture, shot him on oct 4 2013 and didn't get him back till sept 2014. He (not the same guy your talking about) told me since I got my buck in early season that it should be 4 months tops. Im thinking sweet ive heard it takes longer, 4 months comes and goes so I call the guy cause I haven't heard from him since I dropped the deer off of course he didn't answer no call back nothing finally hear from him after about 10 months saying sorry been out of commission should have deer done within a couple of weeks. So the moral of this story is it seems that some not all taxi's are shady, I hope you see your buck again bud. Hope this eases your anxiety a little bit.

This isn't the same guy who everyone was driving by his shop looking for him was it? There was another thread. His dad or son has a shop as well?

It really makes me wonder why a guy would spend lots of dinero to finally kill a buck/duck/trophy etc and then take it to a no name no bueno POS and expect great service at half price. If I had a critter I wanted to mount and enjoy for 20 years in my home I'd get the best artist of the species to do it and gladly pay his/her rate.............this is an art and while I have no problem shopping TP for price, you get what you pay for, they are craftsmen at a special art. You guys kill me with this budget stuff over taxidermy and optics ad nauseum. Do the math, 20 years from now you will still be happy with the result of paying for the best now. Rant over, and thank you to Hibler's for the trophies I still have for all these years!

Don't think so. That is Moye's Taxidermy in Lumberton.

Doesn't look like Bone_Thief has logged on in almost a year.

I don't know anyone in this thread, but I'm guessing you do. Quick search found this thread

Maybe you know more than I do, but calling someone what you did I would sure hope you know more than you're saying, otherwise I'd say you're way out of line. I would hope you're not jumping in with that kind of attack on someone without some history you can share.

Looks like he does really good work! Sounds like a guy my buddy went to. He seriously is the best out there, very **** and won't put out half arse work at all .anyway he has had a head at his shop for 5 years now and he keeps saying it's almost done we have stopped by his house many times and he always has an excuse why it's not ready.!i really don't know how he survives on that pay alone if he never gets his work back out the door! Usually a mount will take a year give or take but 5!!! I'd be hot!!!

He may be referring to the fact that the guy has not returned a call or text in 8+ months. I don't think that is too much to ask.
