Since the economy sux and since there may be a TBH Brother or two that may be in need, I thought I'd post this here before I went outside in the search.
First of all I can't answer to many questions because I have nothing to do with welding ( I'm a crane & rigging Superintendant) but I can get you in touch with the right folks to answer any questions
The company that I work for is, immediately after the first of the year, is looking to put on a couple of combo welders. It is a "maintenance type job" so it is as long term as you want it to be.
It is in one of the chem plants/refineries here in Baytown.
The work schedule is 5-10's so there is at least 10 hours OT every week and sometimes more.
The kicker is, all we hire is rig welders so you will need to have your own rig truck.
Everything is provided except diesel for your truck and welding machine.
Pay is $32/he and $14.50/her for your truck....... So, $46.50/hr.... $32 of which is subject to time and a half past 40hrs
