    Truck question?

For those of you who are either mechanically savvy, or who have dealt with this issue feel free to chim in.

I have a 2010 2WD F150 with about 125,000 miles on it... Recently it started vibrating in the front end a little bit when I hit certain speeds, so I took it in to have the tires rotated and balanced. Well when that didn't work about 3 weeks later I took it back to have the tires rotated and balanced again thinking I just got jacked around the first time. When that didn't fix it I took it to the shop, and they said all they saw wrong was the transmission bracket, they replaced it and it fixed nothing. He suggested it could be that I need new tires, so I went back to discount and got 2 new tires and them rotates and balanced again, and it still has just gotten worse.

Tomorrow I'm bringing it to a different place and I was wondering if anyone could bring light to what's wrong so I can bring that up when I have it in the shop tomorrow. Thanks in advance for your help.

My first thought would be this. I would check upper and lower ball joints. I say this because if it were anything else such as a roaring sound at highways speeds which would say wheel hubs that the upper and lower ball joints along with tie rod ends would be my first items to check/replace.

An out of whack or loose ball joint will cause cupping in the tire which will lead to vibrations. Worn out struts and springs will also cause cupping.

This is of course if you are certain it's coming from the front end.

On my 1 ton ford I had to replace my shocks when it did that.

One thing I've learned over time is vibration in the steering wheel points to a front end issue. Vibration felt in the seats is normally points to the rear end. I know that goes for tire balance so I wouldn't see why it wouldn't apply to worn out shocks and or parts.

Had two ford trucks with similar issues, replaced rotors on one, just turned the rotors on the other, but it cleared up the vibration issues.

I had a 2005 Ford and chased the vibration all over like you are. It ended up being u joints. Replaced them and went away. Friend that is a Ford mechanic was helping me with it. Never would have thought that. I was thinking tires, front end etc.

This may sound strange but i think it is a Coil. The coil over plug. The truck will feel like the transmission is shaking or the motor is missing when you gas on it..

I had the same issue with my old ford. Ended up being this ^^^^^. Mine was not the coil over plug but the ignition coil box. I was told the coil over plug would cause the same problem. Get it to about 45mph and it would shake like crazy. I drove it like this for quite sometime trying to figure it out. After awhile it shake and then the teuck slow down to around 15-20mph and not let me go any faster. Good luck and I hope you can figure it out soon.

This vibration is very similar to when you get the little stop bumps on the side of the road if that helps y'all any.

That's what mine was doing? Have you ever replaced the plugs, wires, coil??? Have any idiot/warning/check engine lights come on at any point after it started??? Mine was also getting water into the coil box and was a 100 times worse if it was raining or wet outside.

Do you feel it in your hands or your feet or your butt?

Does it go away above those speeds?
Do you feel it more after hitting a small bump?
Do you get any shimmy when braking?

Only thing that has been replaced is my transmission bracket. and no lights have come on sense this started.

Its hard to say, its like the whole truck is vibrating. It goes away as soon as i let off the gas, or i can gas it and blow through it. ALSO if i just gas it and get up on the highway it doesn't hardly do it at all. There is no shimmy i have noticed when breaking and bumps might encourage it some but its not enough to really tell you for sure.

I went by A-line, a front end place this morning before work, and the guy there said it felt to him like something was missing in the transmission. He suggested I take it to a transmission place so I didn't waste my money and his time with him farting with it.
