Was making an adjustment to the stand--just rotating it a bit for limb clearance, and had loosened the ratchet strap and chain. I climbed up to the 3rd step to re-attach the stand. Like a dummy I reached out to the side to grab the strap not thinking about the stand just leaning against the tree. Stand rotated and ended up as pictured. I did a good "PLF" or parachute landing fall, ending up on my back. As soon as I stopped moving, figured out I wasn't hurt, and hadn't landed in the tasajillo or pear patches. So I got up and tried to re-fasten the stand, but two bolts had pulled thru the platform. I took it apart, stuck it in the truck and brought it home to build a new platform.
Moral of the story--be careful, you never know when you are gonna do something stupid.
