I just finished chatting with an Att rep via their online chat program. I tried to find out if they would still offer the double the data deal they had in October. they pretty much told me the only deal they had was the 15 gig for the price of 10 and i should check back at the beginning of the year. I left it at that, but now i thinking that if i threaten to switch providers i might get what i want. Has anyone else done this dance and gotten what they want?

Im done with ATT when my current contract is up next year. The plan the sold me was 20 gig at a set price. When I got the bill the next month and the one after that the bill was $100 more that what I was told it would be. I called a rep. who told me sorry the agent told me the wrong price, but they would be happy to sell me 15 gig for the price of 10. I will never enter into another contract to pay out a phone, especially with all these unlocked phones I see offered for $150. ATT lied to me and they wont get my money after we are done, even after 17 years as a customer.

ATT told me one thing and got me to switch from uverse to directtv and it was a horrible experience. I dropped a bunch of channels switching to directtv and guess what the bill ended up being more than I was paying with uverse. I had to cancel both services and techs had to come out multiple times.
Finally after 4 months they signed me up as a new customer. I have 12 months and then I'm leaving. I would have already been gone except my wife is way to loyal to them.
Just an FYI.
Call 800-288-2020 and ask for retention. You will probably be transferred to India first. No they can't help you solve your issue today. Tell them you want retention you will get someone in the United States. Tell them that you are not satisfied and be prepared to have data on other providers with similar price plans and costs. That's probably your best bet.I told them I had been a customer for 12 years and they are giving a better rate to a guy that walked off the street. That's pretty poor in my opinion.

I hate Att but our iPhones are Att so I can't switch until we need new ones.
I started out on my dads plan all the way through college. When I was in college(about a year ago) I needed to upgrade because my phone was dying pretty quickly. So I went in to "upgrade". Well early last year they came out with this new plan that was cheaper than the family plan we were on so my dad switched to that. What they failed to explain was that with the new plan they no longer let you get a discounted phone when you upgrade. They break the phone up into monthly payments. My dad and I were both furious because now if we were all to upgrade it would cost us an extra $200 a month. Which was $100 more a month than the first plan we were on and we had unlimited data with that plan. Then the att manager tried to sit me down and explain how the new plan was "cheaper" than our old one. After writing it down on paper he realized our old plan really was cheaper. So he looked dumb and I told him my dad was a customer with Cingular/att for like 10 years and it was messed up for them to screw us over like that. I told him we were gonna leave and HE TOLD ME TO GO AHEAD. So I walked out and my dad went to Verizon the next day. Sadly at the time Verizon's plan was a little more expensive and all the other services have crappy service here so I just stuck with att. But I'm leaving when I get my next phone.
