Any Christmas Tree farms close to Dallas?

Kicking around the idea of cutting our own, but only if it's not too far of a drive. After 6 years of marriage, this will be our first time to decorate our home for Christmas (due to extensive ongoing remodeling of our entire home). So kinda thought it would be nice to cut down our own tree.

Any suggestions? Alternatively, I'm curious where you guys like to get your live trees from if you buy them around town?

Interested in this as well. I usually just buy one off of a tree lot but I hate that since they've been cut about 2 weeks before they even arrive at the lot. Would much rather get one freshly cut so it isn't dry as toast come Christmas.

We have used Wall's Christmas Tree Farm in Terrell for the last 8 years. They have a great select of trees and great prices.

Thanks jwood. This name rings a bell, I'm pretty sure I've seen their advertisement when traveling to ETX now that you mention this. $7.50/foot sounds great for picking your own fresh tree.

Mike, thanks for the suggestion as well. I'm in Garland so will probably try this other closer option this year.

Not a problem. If you take 276 through Rockwall to 34 and hand a right, it should take about 45-60 minutes. Enjoy and be safe.

There is a Christmas tree farm in Ivanhoe, Tx. They take the family out on a trailer, you pick out and cut the tree down. They haul it back and wrap it for you. Pretty neat operation.

Jim and Maryanne Wilson are great folks. Mainstay has 'entertainment' stuff available, but most of the trees they sell are imported, pre-cut. (Their emphasis is on the 'experience'.)
We owned and operated Trail Creek Farm in Lindale for 12 years and the current owners are doing a great job with it. We still go there to cut our trees each year.
