    Nacogdoches rut

So, ive been in my stand, in numorous different locations, and really just didnt notice any bucks chasing the does on our place. now, i KNOW wheve got deer, have them on camera, and know feeders are working. also know that there are cows and donkeys there. those shouldnt be much problem as to the fact that theyve been there for son long.
my questions is, just to hear it from the gr experts, has the rut in nac county all ready hit its heigth?

In my experience in Nac co, it has already peaked, most likely around opening weekend of the general season. I wouldnt lose hope because from what i've seen growing up hunting that area, is that the second rut tends to offer more visible rutting activity and chasing. Maybe it has something to do with fewer does coming in forcing bucks to chase harder and be more competitive.

One of my most memorable hunts as a kid was on thanksgiving in nacogdoches county. The morning started off seeing a group of about 6 does, the rest of the morning was mayhem with nothing but bucks criss crossing with their noses to the ground! I don't even remember how many different bucks we saw, but I remember missing the biggest buck I'd ever laid eyes on because I was young and got ate up with buck fever when he popped out all of the sudden.

      Stay after em!

Pretty accurate. Last week of October-first week of November are always the peak rut in this area. I thinking maybe you are having trouble seeing deer because they aren't coming to corn well right now, there are too many acorns. I've talked to several people around East Texas that are having this problem right now. But, there are still does that are coming into heat, just stay after it and you may catch one slipping up and cruising.

The rut is still hot and heavy. I've seen deer chasing hard for about a week and a half. Should start winding down in a week or so.

Where I'm hunting in northern Angelina county they are just getting rolling. Their ol necks just started swelling up in the last week or so.

We are on the downside of the first rut for sure. You can't hunt over a feeder though. Gotta get on a game trail around some oaks and wait till they get hungry.
