    trying to learn Grinders

I noticed a Black Friday deal at Bass Pro Shop that included a LEM #8 grinder, with a food saver, etc. for a fair value price
My main concern: Is this model Grinder sufficient for 5-8 deer and 5 hogs per season? Just Grinding for home use, sausage stuffing, chili meat grind.
Can I get some information on any other ideas from out there. Thanks and good luck.

I would not go with anything less than a #32 grinder. I have 2 of them and they are great. You will be able to get it done with the #8 but it will not be an enjoyable experience. You will have a hard time stuffing with that grinder because the throat is to small. I had to save money a couple years to be able to afford the grinder I wanted but it was worth it.
But it is worth it to process your own meat so if you have time go for it.

I use the 1hp from Cabela's and we usually process 3 deer and 2-3 hogs in a season but it would handle much more very easily. I do all of my deer and hogs from the season in one day toward the end or after the season.mine has a #22 neck and does 12 lbs per min.

San Antonio has some used restaurant places. One is on I 35 just inside 410 on the south side. I bought a used commercial Hobart 1 1/2 hp about 30 years ago that keeps on cranking.

I am glad I asked. the LEM#8 is 1/2 HP. I wanted something larger. I would rather have too much tool than not enough. Thx.
Cabela's is not in my neighborhood, but i could make the trip Saturday morning for one thing or another. just saying to my sweetie.
A 1 HP or 1.25 is maybe what I am looking for. But you really do get what you pay for.
            Thx.

I'd look at 1hp minimum for that much grinding over the long haul
