    Flat towing a 4Runner?

I have a 1994 4Runner 4x4 manual trans. Can you put transmission and transfer case in neutral and pull it without any issues? Hoping someone has done this and can help me out.

That shows 1996 and up. Mine is a 1994

I would pull both the drive shafts and pull it before I would just leave it in neutral while pulling it. That way there is no load on the tranny or transfer case.

I still wouldn't do it, google it. A lot of guys tell horror stories of there's going in gear and blowing trannys and motors.

I have an 87 4Runner with manual transmission. I flat tow it several times a year with the transfer case in 2WD and the transmission in neutral. I also disconnect the battery and leave the key in the on position so that the steering wheel lock doesn't lock on me going down the road. Previous owner towed it this way too.

I flat tow a CJ 8. My jeep guy said to disengage the transfer case into neutral for both axles (I have dual shifters) and to leave tre transmission in gear. Key in the acc position for steering wheel. He welded something to flick oil around to keep it lubed going down the road.

I'm still not sure what is the correct way? Some say transfer case in 2H and trans in N, others say transfer case in N and trans in a hi gear and some say it can't be done. I need to pull it to my lease around 300 miles. Is anyone currently towing a 1994 Toyota without issues. I know I pulled my jeep years back with transfer case in N and trans in hi with no issues.

I'm guessing Transfer in 2 and trans in N

Rent a dolly then you should be able to put transmission in neutral and go!
