Question for you ford 7.3 experts

So my truck sounds like it's running fine then all of the sudden dies if I'm at stand still or stalls if I'm on the highway
I'm thinking it's the fuel injector pump but I'm no mechanic
Just don't want to get the wrong part and waste money and time trying to trouble shoot
    Any advice would be appreciated

Sounds like gonna be cam position sensor. If it has a manual trans you won't notice much hen it misses, but if your settling still truck will die, probably cranks right back up tho? Not to bad to replace.

X 7 on the cam sensor.

There are several variations of the sensor when I had to replace mine. I believe one is made with a grey plastic housing, one is black, and I think there is also a blue one?

Been a while but from what I remember a certain color will be matched to your engine block ID.

I had bought a grey one from Oreillys and it did the same thing shortly after installing it. Swapped that one for one with a black housing version and never had another problem.
