That would make sense. Our government doesn't like to do things that make sense. Instead, they will spend thousands of dollars trying to kill the 1000 bison when they could make thousands of dollars and manage the herd at the same time.

^^^ almost spot on... instead they will spend millions of dollars when they could be making millions of dollars. I'm sure the meat will be used and this will be efficient as possible

WHAT???? You mean giving animals an actual monetary value will help fund conservation efforts for the species....

                WHO WOULDA THUNK IT!!!!!!!!!!!

To go along with this... You mean suplementally feeding a popluation of animals in a confined space withought an apropate amount of natural predators and no population control leads to destruction of rangeland (especially riparian zones)...

You mean Aldo Leapold WAS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

CONSERVATION.... CONSERVATION.... NOT PRESERVATION... true preservation is impossible and not in the best interest of any species on the planet.

Not to mention all the hunters that would be traveling stimulating the local economy by eating out, possible hotels, etc

You mean the wolves aren't doing their job? Oh yea, I forgot, they are decimating the elk herd instead.

A few years ago Colorado had guys killing elk in Rocky Mountain National Park. Would not even let residents come get the meat. All of them left laying

I would've smoked this big dude last year if I would have had a tag. He was right outside the park in Montana (we were hunting Elk and Muleys). A lucky hunter who did have a tag got him the next morning.
