Anyone seeing any rutting activity starting yet ? Supposed to head up that way the weekend before Christmas and was wondering what's going on out that way .

A guy on our place saw some younger bucks starting to chase does this past weekend. I will be there every weekend for the next 3 weeks so I can probably give a better report in a week or so.

1st rut happened about 2 weeks before the rifle season opened

I have yet to be there in or around the right time , When does it ususlly kick off ?

In Shackelford just to the North it probably happened this week. When we left Sunday a 4.5year old had a doe on lockdown. I'm sure the mature ones are after them by now.

Haven't been in a couple weeks, but young bucks were doing some light chasing 2-3 weeks ago.

Yes...it's beginning right now. We are seeing 3 1/2 year olds beginning to chase, and the does are beginning to kick loose from the fawns. It should get better each day up until Thanksgiving.

Our place south of Albany peaks around Nov 15th.
