Hogs ...Got'em...how to get them in the trap

I've used a five gallon bucket with lid, fill with corn, drill 1" holes alone the the top. 2-2 liters of strawberry soda and a small package of yeast. Yeast and the soda speed up the fermenting process and the 1" holes drilled in the bucket allow the hogs to roll it around just enough to get the corn out. Also prevents coons from eating all your corn as well. Hope this helps. Good luck

Better not close the lid too tight.
It will be fermented when it stops bubbling. Just make sure to let it breathe enough to let the C02 escape.Last edited by Graysonhogs; 11-17-2015, 12:04 PM.

I don't think the diesel is an attractant. I think it just keeps everything but a hog from touching it. At the same time, the raccoons are a good lure as well. Hogs like what the raccoons eat and will draw in from their scent.
I have pulled a raccoon urine scent drag from hog trails and creeks where they hang out, up to the feed. It seems to speed up their activity because I think they want to know what that raccoon went to grub on. They'll find the corn for sure, but you can draw them from where they are much quicker, as opposed to catching the smell from the creek and trails, if that makes sense, but you got them coming already.
I haven't ever personally trapped them. I just get them in the act and install drain ports near their pump stations with the Gold Tips and Swhackers....Last edited by BowPro73; 11-17-2015, 12:26 PM.
