After 4 days he was the first deer I saw in my feeder pen... I wanted to shoot him bad but I also doubted myself bc of the frustration I had after a long week of hunting... Needless to say I should have pulled the trigger... He needs to be taken when we have slot of other deer that I can let walk with more potential
Looks just like a buck I passed last weekend. I think he was 7.5. I hadn't seen him in 2 years and was so shocked I didn't think about shooting him till it was too late. He was just a shell of what he once was. Good luck on seeing and taking your buck next time.
I've got him at 6.5. He's a monster! Roman nose, brisket, neck an extension of body, I am thinking you were likely looking at the rack as opposed to the body, which is what a lot of people do.
If you had camera pics of him, didn't you look at the body before the hunt? Or is this the first time he showed up?

I hadn't seen him before and my feeder is 200 yards so I was trying to size him, full story I sent my lease manager a pic of him w/ my phone thru my binoculars and it was a bad pic and he thought he was just 4 which I don't blame him the pic sucked, I was thinking he was older, after I looked at card he and I both were like oh yea he's older... Even at 200 yards I could see his pot belly... My only issue was another hunter said he was 4.5 tops after I showed him pics... To each their own I see a 175+ lb deer he looks way over 4.5 to me... We've had some great bucks taken off the lease so far, being in a one buck county I can see why a deer like this makes it to 6+ bc the big bucks are there... I like taking older deer so I'm going to let the 11 pt walk I have been hunting and go for one of the two old 8 pts I have
