Does size matter?

When choosing which antlers to use when rattling? I don't have any whitetail antlers that are bigger than a small 8 point. I have several large axis antlers I could cut down. Does size matter for this?

I'm seriously thinking of cutting down some axis antlers to use. Surely, the whitetail can't differentiate the sound of axis antlers banging versus whitetail antlers? Bone is bone, right? Guess I'll let you know if it works in a week or two.

I was told by an old man who rattled some big bucks and he said son your never gonna fool a big buck with little horns. I bought a pair of TBH a few months ago and I got so say they sound amazing. I am going to guess it was a 140-145 class 8 or so.
