    The Un-killable doe?

Anyone ever have a doe that is immortal? I have been after an old matriarch I have named Flop-Ear that is absolutely UN-KILLABLE! She hogs the feeder, snorts constantly and keeps all other deer away when she is there. I have drawn on her or attempted to at least 12 times since the bow opener. She has me so flustered that I resorted to this yesterday. Needless to say she evaded me again. I swear I will get her before January. Anyone else have a similar situation? How did you end up killing her?

Instead of sitting at the feeder can you post up on a trail that she uses coming in to the feeder area?

I'm wondering if she knows the stand is there and when your in it. I think I would consider moving the stand or put up a temporary one away from your current one. Had a friend that done this on a day lease once. He went for the weekend and the first two hunts the deer busted immediately, so he moved that stand around some and was able to close the deal. good luck...

Long range rifle shot to the ear hole has been the death of several "stompers" at our lease over the years. Wait until end of the year, back way off the feeders with a quality long range rifle, and get ready to smile as you squeeze. Nothing better than busting the tattling does.

We had a doe that would stomp and blow every time anything including other deer got near her. She did it so much the other deer ignored her. She tasted great made into sausage.

Yep had one like her last year. Approached feeders and hand corn from down wind which is exactly where I would be set up. She would stand there blowing walking back and fourth behind me constantly blowing for ever. So when it came time to shoot does i had a friend of the familys son shoot her with his brand new 270 he got for Christmas. Might as well have been a 12 point buck. I could not have been happier. It was pesonal with her and I.

We had an old doe that would blow every time she got to one of our blinds, whether we were in it or not. I finally got her by sitting on the floor of the blind and waited her out. She finally strolled in about 30 minutes later, convinced everything was good. I headshot her when she was looking away, my .280 did the deed!

I had one last year that just wore me out. She was just like you're description. I never did get her. I thought, no big deal, I'll just get her next year. Then, in the spring I lost that lease. I'm on a new one now, so we'll just have to see what nemesis develops here.

I have been after one like that the last three years like said above the other deer ignore her. You can here her coming snorting at rabbits, squirrels, her own shadow, ect. A complete mental case.

We have one like that. She shows up on cameras virtually every day we are not there, but no one has actually seen her while hunting. When we are there she (assuming it's her) stays out of sight downwind of the stands and blows like crazy. A couple weeks ago I thought I had her. There was a rare east wind so to get downwind she would have to walk out in an open field, which she did. She stood out there in the wide open almost 100 yards away blowing and stomping. I guess she knew I was toting a bow.

I had one coming in snorting all of october. My wife and I were hunting a big 8 and she came in a week ago and started snorting before the feeder went off. We were both ******. She snorted and left 3 times then offered me a shot and I cut her heart out. It was very satisfying to watch her fall 30 yards away. The next morning my wife shot the buck off the same feeder.

I had some deer like a couple years ago. My dad was hunting a stand a little farther up the hill from my stand. About 30 minutes before dark he fires. I texted him " what did you shoot" and I start packing up my stuff to go help him. He fires a second shot, so I send him another text "you shoot another one" so now I'm really excited and start walking to his stand. I get there and there is a doe standing at the feeder. So I say "dad there is a doe at the feeder, I'm going to shoot her." I pull my rifle off my shoulder and get in the standing stance that I shot competitions with. I hear my dad say "go ahead and try, but she is a ghost deer" I get the cross hairs leveled and in the right spot and notice she has a wired coloring on her back and one ear. I fire and she is still looking at me, I go to rack another one and she kinda runs/walks off. Come to find out we both shot at her. My dad shot at her down one of the lanes she didn't even run she walked to the next lane and he shot at her again then I showed up as she is eating from the feeder and i shot at her. We found no blood or anything. We check our rifles the next day and we both shot perfect at 100 yards, even when I shot offhand. The next time I saw her I didn't even try to shoot her, I just let her feed under my feeder for a bit and walk off. I guess some deer are un-killable.
