October 5, Sunday, drove to lease by 5am. Found feeder empty. Huh?
#1. Had too much clearance between cone and slinger plate.
#2. These older eyes cant tell the difference between 2 and 7 seconds.
Hunted stand anyway. Nothing, but caught a couple catknaps.
In the afternoon set up next to a narrow field in the Yophons. Cleared opening in Yophons. But Tinks on bush out at 20 yards from hide. Doe came down trail and smelled bush. Let an arrrow fly and she ducked totally missing here. She trotted off then started comming back. Another antlerless deer comming in. That one stopped to smell the Tinks. Aimed 20 yard pin just under deer. "Chrunch!" the arrow found it's mark. Deer didn't run but 20 yards out it turned to look and blood was flowing from side. It dropped.
Turned out to be a nubbin buck. Dang! I glassed it too. It happens
