    F250 Shock Advice Needed

Well I think after 245k miles my shocks are shot I just left Napa and I can get Napa gas shocks made my Monroe for $55 a piece. I know nothing about shocks so any advise is appreciated.

I would say it depends on how much longer your keeping the truck.

a while then no I would go with something much sturdier and high end like ranchos.

If its just to keep it going straight for a bit longer i'd do it in a heartbeat.

Never said if this was a diesel mine ate through front end shocks like they were candy bars.

The ex mecahnics here at work say that Billstien or Monroe are the way to go. Yep it has 7.3 in it. I plan on driving it until the wheels fall off

thats a ford for you. good luck. mine are still in great shape after 153k and the truck has been through places that most wouldnt take a 4 wheeler.

Rancho, ProComp and the like will give you a rougher ride, as they are valved for off road use.

I would go with the Monroe. Bilstein, Fox, King, and such are top of the line shocks, but are very expensive!

Get the Monroe Gas Magnums and spend the money that you save on huntin and loose women.

I have a F150 4X4 and recently had to replace the shocks. It had factory Ranchos on it. I replaced them with the top of the line gas shocks from Autozone. The first couple of days was a rough ride. Then every bump was accompanied with a rattle that just kept getting worse. After 3 weeks I replaced them with some more Rancho and haven't looked back. The bushing on the gas shocks were busted after just 3 weeks Full refund and not a problem one from these new ranchos. My 2 cents.

                    Bilstein gas shocks here too....

Although I think running around empty they sure make the back end bounce.

If you got 245k out of your factory shocks then I believe I would go back with factory, thats a lot of miles on a set of shocks.

I would agree with deerplanter. I am a ford certidied tech and have seen that in some situations fords dont do that well with after market parts.

I bought the Pro Comps so that I could have more money for huntin and loose women

I got a smooth 100k outta my factory shocks, but them again I'm a little harder on a vehicle than the average person.
