    Portable Tripod Idea

Want to build a lightweight portable tripod that I can set up and take in and out of the hunting grounds with ease and wanted to get some ideas from you all..

If you have pics of your Portable tripods I would love for you to post so I can see them..

    Thanks in advance

I along with some other guys built some when we hunted austwell wildlife Refuge. It is in barn in shiner and I will take picks this weekend. Legs are he lightest, yet strongest I could get to hold up from Home Depot. Legs are bolts (again Home Depot). Seat from academy.

No photos, but I took a south texasxtripod and welded a bar for a axel
To the top. Took off the bicycle wheels when we got far into the Aransas wildlife refuge.
Not perfect but it worked. Sadly no buck died during the only trial.

Here is one of the 20 or so that I have made and hunted off of for probably 30 years now. Not too hard to make, fairly light weight and reasonably inexpensive.

No picture to post but my fil built some that we used to use at Aransas NWR. Made out of 2" emt conduit. Light enough to drag a mile back into the scrub. I think there are still pits from the mosquitos trying to eat them.

Never heard of it but I'll look it up on the net and see what I can find, the problem is that the commercially sold tripod are priced stupid expensive.

Do the legs break down? Looks like a one piece from the pic provided!

Going to try Bexar County. Will drag tripod out and post tomorrow. Ours are only 8' or so. Made for those short oaks way back In The blockhouse and homer Martin days
