    Little bit of a problem...

Ok so long story short, bought an AWESOME bow that I finally love. And stole it for a mere $300. A 3 or 4 year old Bowtech AirRaid.

It had a few tweaks and fittings to be done to it including a new string. Without going into detail a dry fire mishap happened which left the string in a bind with the "up and down" string retainers being press on the cams. In a desperate measure to prevent any further damage I pressed the limbs together with my hands and had my buddy cut the string (mind you the bow was barely at full compression at this time).

I thoroughly looked over the limbs, they look great. The cams on the other hand appear to have contact damage from the metal retainers that touched them. I honestly can't tell if the cams are bent.

I contacted Bowtech to which they stated they couldn't sell me cams and that I would need to contact a retailer. I called a local archery shop to see if they could get cams in case they needed replacing to which they said "GOOD LUCK". That I would have to get lucky on eBay or someplace else to find the cams.

Is any of this true? Is it really that hard to find cams for a 3 year old bow?

It can be, based on how popular that bow was

So out of the hundreds of models of bows no 2 cams are alike or compatable?

Ask for Hunter and tell him the problem.
They're one of the largest Bow Tech dealers and should be able to get you fixed up.

I may be wrong but I think the airraid is more like a 7 to 10 year old bow. I am no bowtech expert though. If anyone can help it will be Rocky on her. Richard McCarty is his name. He lives at lake fork

Well I was almost right. Looks like they were made from 2009 to 2010. So 5-6 years old and that is old in the world of bows these days. I think bowtech has sold at least one time since then

Most shops won't have them in stock. Did bowtech say if a shop could even order them?

Bowtech said I would have to go through a retailer to find them.

Shop says they could try and find but I haven't told them I need them yet. Was gonna try and find them on my own.

Supposedly they made them till 2012...and according to Bowtech this was a 2011 model? The way it was setup supposedly was the deciding factor.

So went by Sante fe archery and once again they pulled through.

Cams are straight, just some cosmetic damage. A busted bushing and a new string. Jason over there was straight forward and honest.
