    Fishing Corpus Questions

I'm headed to Corpus this weekend for a bachelor party, we will be staying out on the water in one of those cabins on stilts and we will have 3 boats with us.

Can anyone tell me where to find the fish or what their hitting (please don't say live bait )?

I have no idea why we chose to go somewhere that none of us know the water but, after Ike, I cant say that the upper coast is a great option either.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Steve

Any idea of where the cabin is located? Landcut? This will help. Also, are they flats boats?

Grass line from Pita to pure oil channel. With the light north winds early drift with gulps right down the grass line to pure oil channel. Also, east side of the ICW all the way down along nighthawk. Look for cuts that run into nighthawk and water movement in or out. I'd try gulps or Catch 5's. Spoons in the flats for schooling reds.

I have heard reference to the land cut so it might be near there. I do know that I will be picked up at marker 37, if that means anything to you.

The boats are all flats boats and we are all accomplished fishermen. We just don't know the waters.

          PS: Have GPS nav systems

          Thanks guys,

          Steve

If the cabins are down that far try summerhouse, South yarborough, south badlands in Baffin. Gulps, tops,Catch 5's. I would give the tide gauge a shot too.

If you are in the Landcut Steve I would definitely go into 9 Mile Hole if you get a chance. The fall is the best time of the year to fish down that way so I would highly recommend it. Also like stated above Summerhouse Flats, Rocky Slough and Yarbourgh are not but a 15 minute boat ride away so I would look at those spots as well. Be care on Rocky Slough, there is a reason they call it Rocky!!!

Good luck and take some pictures and let us know how it turns out!

Forget fishing! Take your bow and have them drop you off on the King Ranch shoreline and go find a brute!

                        Rocks in 9 mile hole?

And here I thought you knew your way around there.

Steve, my partners son was at our cabin week before last and did not do too well searching for fish but, they did real well on keepers under the lights.

Definately one of my favorite places to be. You'll have a blast.

I talked to a friend that was in 9 mile hole last weekend and said there is a school of reds the size of a football field and they were all upper slot to over sized. 9 mile hole is also known as ships graveyard, so be careful. The tides are pretty high right now but with a north wind, it could drop.

The badlands are holding alot of fish, I have also heard that rocky slough is good right now but havent fished that myself.
