Funny you bring that up. Just got back from Conroe High School getting some work in with Colton and Tyler. That got the University of Oklahoma coming in tomorrow to get a look at the local stock. Good luck to your nephew and good to see him pitching.

Game plan has changed for afternoon hunt. Tyler is going to sit behind house with crossbow and Colton will be back after it at bow lease with his stick n string. We've got some big does coming in behind house. The only shooter buck out back is nocturnal. We will see how it goes. We had 8 does on corn behind house at 4pm yesterday.

Thanks! Alright, I got them both situated in their stands. The morning hunt was slow at both locations so hopefully will be moving good this afternoon. Kind of a bitter sweet day. Even though my season has been over, I have got to play guide with these 2 boys the past 2 weeks. I have actually enjoyed this more than actually hunting myself. Tyler killed his first ever deer with a crossbow and Colton killed his first ever deer with bow and arrow.

I get to watch Tyler's hunt this evening from the back window. It just feels right this evening. Let's see what happens.

Very slow. Neither of them have seen a thing. Colton isn't happy. He had some trespasser walking the boundaries of the fence line on our side. Even walked right by our pop up and they talked! He said he would tell me later but he isn't happy since that probably boogered up the rest of the hunt. Very quiet behind the house for Tyler.

Camp went good. They kept my nephew and 2 other guys after the camp. We toured the campus and had a meeting with the head coach. Said he'd be in touch in a couple of days to discuss money offers.

Colton has the non shooter doe in front of him now. Still nothing out back at Tyler's setup which strange. Running out of daylight!

It's been a good year, have meat in the freezer and feel like I have already met some good people even though I haven't put a face to names yet. It's been a great learning season for me and I am already checking trail cams and looks like I have 3 mature bucks that im pretty sure made it to look forward to next year if the poachers don't get them. Food plots will be going in soon and protein feeder has already been staying full since Thanksgiving. Hopefully we can have a few get togethers through the year and if any of you need anything hit me up. Time to get the boat up and going and either hit the water or get something new then hit the water. It's Crappie time!!!

My nephew was on the Mizuno top 100 prospect list as a freshman and blew out his elbow this past year and had to have Tommy John surgery. He will be out this season as a junior and hopefully be back strong for his Senior hear of highschool. Too many years of select and elite ball over the years.
