    Shot Placement

On another tread in here I read somebody's post about shot placement and they had a mark or red dot showing where an ideal hit would be (straight up the arm in the gap between the scapula and the arm bone). Well last night I aced a buck with that shot placement and he barely made it 35 yards. Specifics: 28 yard shot with a Bowtech Experience 70lb, Beman ICS hunter 340's and Slick Trick 100 grain 1"&1/8" broadhead.

Nice buck homie. I still lead 2-1.

Make that 3-1 after this am hunt.

I used that same shot placement on archery opener and my buck made it about 50yards. Over the last couple of years I kept aiming for the heart and shot under a few times. I'm ok with admitting that I'm not that great of a shot do I used the advise of the shot placement thread with advise from a couple of more experienced hunters and I'm really liking the new shot placement.

              Congrats on your deer!

I identify with this. I always aim for the heart and I have missed low on two bucks this year already. My shot placement is changing.

That's odd... Usually when you" make a perfect double lung" they run 400 yrds, dogs are needed and the POS broadhead failed

. Awesome shot!!! That will put em don't every time

Buff - it flat out works alright.
That deer did not go far at all - I've seen deer hit by rifle bullets in the same spot run further. Must be because the bullet mascerates tissue and it does not bleed at freely as it does from a broadhead. It was a lightning fast kill for sure.

Even better - it was a complete pass through. My arrow was laying on the ground 10 yards behind where he standing. Totally reusable, just needs to be cleaned.

your right....if it aint a heart shot then they will duck it or run for ever
I generally try ti hit them right here and never worry about a blood trail because they are dead with in 50-75 yds
