What archery shop do you use?

Curious, when you guys need to take your bow into a shop in the DFW area, where do you take it to? Also, is this dependent on your location, or will you drive further to get better service/prices? Would you rather buy a bow from a bow shop or one of the big box stores if the price was comparable?

Depends on who's working at the box store. I know a couple guys that used to work at gander mountain that are top notch bow techs. If they still worked there, that where I would take my bow.

I take mine to a bow shop near canton. Nice place and I've been really happy so far!

Jim at Gateway Archery is the man! I use to go up to Big O's in Sherman when I lived in McKinney and liked those guys as well. Jim worked at Alvarado Archery for years and just recently opened his own shop in Stepehenville.

Not really in your area but to answer 2 of your questions

I will drive as far as I have to in order to have someone I trust and believe in work on my bow. I have not let anybody but one guy touch my bows in the last 3 or 4 years.
To me it is worth the drive to let someone I have confidence in work on my equipment

I would buy from a shop over a "big box store" any day. I have bought most of my last bows used though.

Apex Archery in pilot point it's a one man show and Kevin puts pride into getting your bow set to your comfort and tuned to perfection biggest plus to me is unlike the larger shops where the staff rushes to get to the next customer he doesn't and he will make sure your 100% comfortable with your bow I'd recommend him to anyone great fella and great work
