    Snake ID

Not sure what this little guy was. Eased him off the road after his photo shoot so he didn't get ran over. Any thoughts on what kind? There is ZERO water around the area.....so I don't think he is the mysterious rattle headed copper moccasin.....he almost looks like a pet snake that has been turned loose. Very docile snake.

I have no problem with snakes, so we let all of them live. Just haven't seen one like that before.

Prairie king snake. They have very similar markings to a rat/chicken snake.

Yep, most definitely a prairie kingsnake. Great to have around, they are non aggressive and make good show and tell snakes as they are docile. They do look similar to a juvenile rat snake but the shape of the head and smooth scales say different. Hadnt caught one of those in years.
