Who gets reddy ice or some other company to deliver ice to their lease? Ice machine is out of the question for us, we'll water is no Bueno. I'm waiting on a call back (could be 2 days) but have a couple simple questions before I present it to the guys. What's the minimum number of bags you need to buy to get the freezer for free? What do you pay per bag and what is the minimum number you need to order to get a delivery?

You will have a hard time getting a merchandiser and delivery from them unless you are going through a high volume of ice.
Even with your own freezer, I think you will have a difficult time getting deliveries, unless they add on a steep delivery charge.
I would look into buying a used freezer and going by Reddy office and loading back of truck with bagged ice and cover in tarp. With cooler weather, it should be fine depending on length of drive.

Reddy is national company and will have different guidelines.
Small local company might be more willing to service you.
They also sale 40lb bags, which will give you best bang for your buck.

This is how I do it. I have a chest freezer mounted on my utv trailer. We load it with jugs of water, meat, any thing that we want frozen. Then when we stay at motel or any thing we plug in if need to. When we get to the last town to buy ice ,we only need a few bags. For drinks, other coolers that have the beer and pop ,groceries, things. When we get to the camp, we plug in and we can put our meat directly in to the freezer each night. While out in the field we carry the frozen jugs of water in a cooler to keep lunches and animals that day cold . Then when we return to camp take meat put in freezer and replace jugs with fresh ( frozen) ones. Works great and we don't need much ice this way. We travel from Denver to Uvalde and back and every thing stays frozen. And most times don't need to plug in over night.Last edited by critter69; 11-07-2015, 08:46 AM.
