Me and my dad are going hunting opening weekend. Our package is axis buck and doe, with the stipulation that the buck is 29" and under. Over is an extra $500, which isn't a lot considering, however, us there some sort of trick to "eyeballing" an axis as far as horn size? This is not guided, so it's kinda on you to know. Any help?

If you have never hunted or seen them in the wild a 28'' is going to look like a monarch to you. To be safe I wouldn't shoot anything you thought was more than 15-20 inches past the brow tines or more than 6-8 inches past the caudal tine. Good luck. I would search some threads to get an idea as well.
