I have a hard time culling 1.5 old deer, there are two many variables that go into play to really be able to see his genetic potential

If he shows up while your there: shoot him. I don't think it hurts anything and a better deer may show up.

Cull. My first buck was a cull my buddy let me shoot on his place. I'll never forget it. Spread the wealth-and the venison!

Looks like a yearling to me - very baby-faced and slight build. Let him walk.

I would definitely let him go ... Next year could bring better and different natural food productions.
