For you East Texas Hunters, particularly around the Crockett area, has anyone found any success with Tinks, Code Blue or other? Also, what do you all use to mask your scent?
It's tough to mask your scent so anything will have about the same results. As far as attracting bucks, a doe is your best bet for the nest few weeks. Nothing works better than the real thing!
For deer in east tx all I use is Trails End #307. No corn, vanilla, cotton seed, fruity crap, apple cores, Honey Nut Cherios...or whatever the latest trending this is.
Ok, I buy that. You are right. Doe in the area in estrus helps for sure. So what about using those doe bleats?
I don't have much experience with deer calls of any kind but I haven't tried anything in a long time. I carry a grunt but rarely ever use it. I'm sure at the right time calls could work, just not sure when that might be, so keeping quiet is my approach.
Some folks swear by that kind of stuff so it must have worked for them. Hopefully they'll share some tips on when and how.
In my experience of you can keep does coming in even at night with food plots, corn ext. you can get cruising bucks to swing by the same areas scent checking.

For hogs I use corn
This^^^^ not sure why that stuff works. Smells nothing like deer pee to me. Almost has a catnip/licorice type smell. But, I have used it around mock and regular scrapes with good results. All the deer pee stuff was just that.... Stuff.

Fully Agreed. Not much luck with the pee. I was always under the impression #307 is intended to smell like doe poonanny....not pee. I just puts a couple light drops up wind from where I believe the deer are at and it will usually peak their curiousity and they will come looking.
