    Rancho Safari

Got in my new pack from Rancho a couple weeks back. This thing is awesome. Fantastic quality and workmanship.. It has the quiver etc. I have been trying to get used to all the straps & clips etc.. Anyone have one? I think it is the model VI.5 or 6.5 for us simple people.. If you have one or are familiar with it please chime in. Thanks..

I may have to look into these. I am needing a new pack as mine is about wore out.

First run at it for the last 5 days.. I am getting way more familiar with the gear placement now.. The quiver was a bit to get used too but now it is great. Top quality. Sat with me in strand for the first three rainy days. Last two just happily hung out with my bow.. I honestly considered cutting off half the straps etc. but I am glad I did not. Patience and practice. I did not loose a single arrow from the quiver.

Thanks for all that chimed in..

I have had that same pack for at least 10 years minus the cat quiver. Jerry is good people. What I like about it is that it sits low and not really up on your back. With a conventional back pack, my back sweats so bad, after a 5 day elk hunt, the packs picks up a lot of body odor. This one does not. I took out the stiffeners and added a camel back bladder. I also got the meat pack option, but seldom use it. I love all the straps and buckles too, especially for elk hunting. I don't really use it here for deer hunting. I don't need that much space. The "range finder" pouch that is sheep skin lined makes a perfect video camera pouch too. That's what I use it for anyway. Like I said, I've had mine for over 10 years, and it is still just like brand new and so far, has not leaked a drop in the rain/snow when the weather is bad. You made a good choice!

I have a catquiver mini, catquiver I, and the catquiver V. I lost my catquiver II when I flipped my boat...

So yea, I like them a lot!

I have never lost an arrow out the catquiver and I like that the hood protects the feathers. Removing and reloading arrows takes a little practice but it's easy once you get the hang of it. I modified mine so I could also have a couple of SGH tipped arrows in with my broadheads; I keep them on the left side.

Yessir Blake. I talked to Jerry right after the fire. Lost one building that housed a lot of the sewing/cutting equipment I think. Warehouse I think was spared. They did rebuild. it never completely shut them down. Just slowed 'em down a bit and stopped certain product lines.

I also have an ultra light ghillie parka Jerry made for me. (not the burlap version). Was wearing it when I shot my first recurve bow elk in Co. It works like a champ and is still like brand new after more than 10 years.
