Setting up a pop up on broom weed

Like the title reads................how? I have a couple of pop ups I need to place close to my feeders. One of my favorite places is a natural creek with abundant water flowing and my feeder about 40 yards from it. My rifle blind sits on top of the cliff overlooking.

Rains were good this year thus tons of broom weed. Yes I tried using a weed eater and a lawnmower, neither worked. The stalks on the broom weed are thick and tough. Any ideas on how to set the pop ups where broom weed is would be appreciated.

I'd cover it with broom weeds

Are you trying to remove enough to place the blind, clear a shooting lane, both?

Some people call it a Sling Blade. I call it a Kaiser Blade. Mmmmm. Hmmm

Don't guess I've ever cut them with anything except the batwing mower behind the tractor. But I'm pretty sure you can pull them up fairly easy. I know that's not a preferred method probably but would work! Haha

I ran into this problem last week. I have a three knife steel blade for weedeater and it worked well.

With a machete you should have an area big enough for anpop up cleared in about 5 minutes, take an eye hoe and you can chop/dig up the stubble sticks so it will be quieter

Any of the above suggestions should work, machete, sling blade, or even loppers.

Loppers would be easiest, but slowest.

Machete will work, but you'll have to get close to them. I broke out in a rash and swole up last time I walked through some. You might keep that in mind, especially if you're by yourself and a long way off from your truck.

Sling blade will give you a little distance.

A tractor with a shredder would be ideal, but I'm guessing that's not an option.

Hand pruners - clip out the area you need for the blind and then cover the blind with what you cut.

I would take loppers and just clear enough to place your blind and then trim the tops enough to have a clear shot, I wouldn't over do it on clearing lanes. Take all your trimmings and brush your blind in.

They pull up pretty easily, especially if the ground is wet/damp. Home depot rents a walk behind brush mower that works, you just gotta go slow.
