    A good days work

Well I skipped out on the hunt this morning to go watch my nephews peewee football game in the rain. They didn't pull out the w, but he played some fundamental football and it's always encouraging when they're learning.
After that, me and the ol lady (gf) hit up the local cafe for some of the best breakfast around. Had to pile on some calories for the work I was about to do.
After breakfast, we headed north with a bag of corn to go refresh my hand corn and to cut a few limbs for my grayson co set. Seeing as we got all this rain recently, I decided to play it safe and hike to my set. After the 3/4 mile hike, we played monkey (I on top of my buddys shoulders) to reach the few limbs I needed clearing. Finished cutting limbs, pulled the sd card only to have a few does and a small fork horn. Threw 25lbs of corn and got out of there.
Then we were headed back south and west to my Cooke property. Checked my newest cam (cuddeback) and it is the worst camera I've ever had the opportunity to work with. I've had it out for 3 weeks, and it seems like it just doesn't trigger, and when it does, it seems to wash out the subject or miss it completely. Anyways, that thing is being returned soon.
Once hightailing out of that spot, I headed to the north side of the property to make another set. It's pretty open on the north side of the property, but it hasn't been messed with in years and the growth is starting to seem more like deer habitat. So I found a little thicket within 40 yards of the tree line to set my pop up in. After an hr or so of cutting limbs for brushing the blind and shooting lanes, I was satisfied with the results. I got in my blind, figured out where I wanted to corn, and threw the other 25 lbs. I cleared a few limbs off a small sapling for my camera, and was out of there.
Needless to say, this is the best opportunity I've had for chasing trophy whitetail in all my hunting days. I'm elated.
All in all, a good days work preparing for the upcoming rut activity.

The new set. I call this the rut blind, because that's about the only time I see them cruising in the open.

And the other side. I ended up brushing it in more after the pics.
