Who else is slogging through the mud to a stand this morning?

My son came home from college and took my stand this morning so I'm taking the morning off. We had to dig out his mucks for his trek this morning. He's got about 500 yards of fresh planted wheat to get to his stand after an inch of rain yesterday.

Just made it to the box stand with my 11 year old baby girl. I'm wet from head to toe but managed to keep her dry. This will be her first time to hunt on youth weekend. I work shift work and this is the first time in about 8 years I've had this weekend end off.

I grabbed what I thought was a Diet Coke and stuck it in my backpack on the way to the blind. I just opened it for a caffiene bump and got a surprise. Im not normally a Coors Light fan but its not bad as a breakfast beer!

I almost got stuck..... on foot!!!!! The field I have to cross looked like a lake today!!! Had to differ to another stand

I picked up a new small acreage lease near my others in southern Burnet Co. My son can't hunt this morning, so I decided to sit in the box blind with my camera, scouting for him (for tomorrow).

I was about 5 miles from the place when I hit a barricade. Bridge GONE. Mapped my way around then 1mile away, another baracaded creek. Quick walk through and determined it was passable. Had to pull trees and logs out of the way. Now snuggled in.

Rut us full on. Excited to camera shoot this morning.
