The court can not tell you what to plead. There is a lot of fail going on here. Call a lawyer who deals with traffic court and let them sort it out.

      Hi Dusty,

I called Shannon today and had a long talk about my situation. He said he usually charges 400.00 but would charge 300 based on my story. I am a little taken back because all he is going to do is file a case for dismissal. I think I can request that on my own. I may reach out to your other contact as well.

This whole story is crazy. I am in talks with others as well.

      I appreciate everyone's input.

Whatever you do, don't pay the collection agency, immediately write a dispute letter or it will be a hit on your credit forever. Do not speak to anyone at the court without recording the conversation, and no, you don't have to tell them you are recording.

A buddy of mine lost his job as a police officer because a clerk in some small courthouse failed to do some paperwork with DPS and he was driving around on a suspended license, unbeknownst to him. Get this worked out before it bites you in the butt, but I would pay a lawyer 1200 before I paid a collection agency a dime, and I generally don't care for defense attorneys.

Which court is it? Yes you can file for dismissal on your own, but you aren't here. If it isn't a problem with thst, then go for it.

Always talk to several attorneys, but also keep in mind, most of what they do - you can do. They just live for this.

You could always ask for Discovery of the evidence against you, the complaint, etc. They've already told you that they can't find the ticket...... Seems like that would be " Peoples' Exhibit A".

              Hey Man:

I'm a CSPD officer. Inbox me and I'll be happy to do some digging for you to find out the best course of action, of the ticket is in the municipal court of CS.

I also know the City Marshall for CS as he is a personal friend of mine. I can try to give you the straight answer.

I do know that since it has been so long, they turned it over to OMNI Collections and you'll take a hit on your credit report and they'll also make it so that you cannot renew your license after it expires. You need to get this cleared up asap. I'd also hate to see you spend the amount of the ticket or more on a lawyer.

I know that you probably cannot get a lawyer to take the case and you probably cannot win much, if any money. If a person never pleaded guilty or was never found guilty in court, it sure seems illegal for a city to turn something over for collections that they legally cannot claim.

In 2006 I got a passing in a no passing zone in Anderson Texas. Problem was that when I began the pass I was in a passing zone but didn't finish in the passing zone. Went to talk to judge (jp). He won't talk to me have to talk to county attorney. Meet with him. He offers defensive driving, I request trial. A month later I get a summons to appear in court and attend. Again he offers defensive driving, I tell him I want a trial. Haven't heard another thing from them. I have since renewed my license with no problem.
