    Temp Ranger CV Boot Repair

Anyone know of a temp CV boot repair until I can get it replaced? Lease is super dusty (raining tomorrow so it will be mud instead, and I don't have time to get it done before this weekend or take it out of commission for a few weeks.

I would not run it and get it fixed or you will have to buy a whole new axil.

I have filled a boot completely with grease to limp around for a little while on a 4 wheeler. It works well to keep water and mud out. Not recommended long term at all but can get you through a weekend.

Add a bunch of grease as stated above and the get a roll of plastic wrap like the use in shipping ( can be found at Lowes, Home Depot ) not kitchen wrap and start wrapping. It will stretch as the joint flexes and should get you through a weekend. Don't ask me how I know this

Fill it with grease and get creative on wrapping it up. Wouldn't delay getting it repaired or as stated you will ruin the axle and other components. Easy job to replace to.

Wow guys, that stretch wrap is a great idea. I'm gonna add a roll of that to my "possibles" box for the old just-in-case-something-happens, happens.

Absolutely 100% appreciate the help fellas. It will be fixed properly very soon. I am just in a pickle for time over the next couple of weekends to try and fit 2 weekends of hunting in between sons baseball tourneys and showcases. One of the down weekends for baseball I will either take it to have it done or attempt it myself. Whichever way I go will be strictly time constraint decision.

PLUS, if you ask my wife, I am more than capable of "fixin" things that break. MY issue is that, as luck would have it, I usually end up having to fix more than what I was originally trying to fix.....if you catch my drift.

Thanks again for the info and suggestions. GS TO THE RESCUE. Who needs the Wonder Twins (Ha! Really telling my age with that one {Hannah Barbera Cartoons}).

You younger ones won't have a clue, but you older ones (my age of 45 and older) will have quick memories of the Wonder Twins, Jabber Jaws, Fantastic Four, etc. when there was no cartoon network and you could only get cartoons on Saturday morning.
