I saw POT tape markings too when scouting Godwin recently...probably survey purposes

Am sure you saw the same tape I did. Was thinking it was a pretty fancy yet clever way to know where you are in the woods. They were spaced at the right distance for making your way through the woods in the dark. forget the last one I saw, was really curious to see the last one and the tree POT was going to hunt.

Put some miles on my boots this morning.

Found some good spots

Saw hogs, turkeys and tons of deer sign (rubs, scrapes, trails and tracks)

I did not see a single snake
I did see a piece of tire tread that about caused me to scream like a girl but I contained myself. Dang thing looked exactly like a timber rattler

When I don't see em it always makes me wonder just how many I stepped right next to and never knew it.

It was pretty cool yesterday so maybe I could have had a faster reaction time than they did

Count me in. Have two spots already picked out and will scout for a third this weekend. After two years waiting my nephew is getting married in Abilene on Saturday, so I will be missing that day. I tried to convince him to move the date to no avail.
