Well, my hunting partner (Cowdog on here) and I lost our lease in Llano earlier this year. We had been there for 5 years and really enjoyed the place. We looked this year for a new lease and didn't find one that really matched up for what we were looking for. We suddenly got turned on to a leasing possibly late last week. I was able to go view the property on Sunday na dtold the land owner we'd take it. Lease to be signed and paid this coming Sunday. I can't wait. I'm so excited. I was very bummed out about not having a spot to hunt this year. I hope this place works out as well as I expect it to. It's 350 acres out west of Hico.
I think we're both going to run pretty light setups this season since we're getting in so late in the game. Plus, that'll give us a chance to learn the patterns of the deer before we move in the big box blinds and such. It's gonna be popups and tripods this year...which I actually prefer in most cases.
