How to improve "cold bore" accuracy?

My 9yr old son has really improved with his bow, but he is pretty consistently all over the place for the first 6-12 arrows, before he settles in and starts grouping well. I've tried warming him up first with stretching and holding his bow out and focusing only on a very small 1" bullseye. Still, he's erratic for those first arrows then he dials right in and can shoot decent groups.

I know a lot of it is just patience and practice, but if anyone has tips on how he can get dialed in more quickly I would sure appreciate it. We're going to start shooting TFAA SYWATs and I need to figure out how to get him warmed up and ready before he shoots the event. That, and it will be a good exercise for when he is strong enough to pull hunting weight and try for a deer.

    Thanks!

take a target with you in your truck/4 wheeler and shoot a few after you park before heading to the stand.

One thing I do is shoot one arrow every morning before I get in my truck to go to the office. Just one arrow and nothing more. I am sure his mechanics are fine but it is the focus you want to build on. One shot shot one kill every morning. Of course you still need to practice a lot but you also need to build his confidence.

      Good luck
