    Searching for 55gal barrels

Anyone know of a source for 55 gallon barrels in the Sherman area? Gainesville/McKinney wouldn't be to far if there is something there as well? I'm needing a couple to build feeders and can't seem to locate any clean barrels without paint or oil sludge in them.

If you want to make the drive to Waxahachie you can go to the honey place and get barrels from them.I think last time I got some they was about 5 bux apiece.

Lewisville feed mill (I think) maybe Lewisville feed store on Main St. at Mill St.
They are $15 but clean and straight. Used to have Ice Cream in them. I've got 2 and deer and hogs all over the one I've got out.

There is a place on 121 just east of 75....like you are heading to Trenton. It is a little place on the left side of the road.

Nice old lady been buying from her for years. I guess she is in Melissa.

If you need more info send me an email or PM.

Roger, you mentioned paint barrels, most Highway striping companys have 100's - 1000's of these barrels that they will give away. All it takes is a couple of gallons of gas and a match and the dried waterbase paint in those barrells is gone. If you know where to get them, they will probally be free if you can't find them let me know where you are located and I can find someone close that you can get them from if you are interested.

just north of Whitesboro on the east side of 377, across from Sonic. I don't know if they are for sale or not but it's right in your backyard and worth checkin out.

Thanks for the help guys. Picked up some barrel funnels and a leg bracket kit marked down at Academy this am and now know where to get the barrels. Once my boss buck protein head comes in I'll be ready to build. Thanks again.

Sean, you beat me to it.. Thats where I get mine. The last ones I got cost me $8.00 good clean barrels with lids and locking rings. Not the rings you put a bolt through, but good clamp style rings that you can put a lock in...

Its been about 15 years since I have got any but best I could rember they was about 5 bux or so.Yes they are the good ones with the locking rings and they are also easy to clean out with some hot water.Just watch all the honey bees zooming around that place when its warm.

The full rig is $8.00 now. But less if you just want a barrel. And if you want some for like burn barrels or trash and you don't mind them being bent there about $2.00...
