Towing capacity help

I'm needing to pull a 16' tandem axle trlr w a kaw. mule, the bigger single cab (4010???) and a honda rancher, w a few other misc items. Will I have any trouble using a chev z71 1/2 ton 5.3 ?
Its a long haul, appx 300 miles.

Naw, you're fine. I've pulled a four horse stock trailer with two 1200lb horses with a 1/2 ton 5.3. Might be a bit sluggish, but you won't hurt anything

Ok, thanks. I didn't think so either, my son is questioning it, its his mule and thinks he is putting me out if i haul it for him w my 4wlr.

No problem at all. I had a 2010 z71 loaded with an 18' trailer and 4 atvs turned sideways. Lots of gear in the bed and 4 grown men in the cab. Had a little squat to it but had no trouble pulling the load up and down hills.

Do yall use the "tow mode" when pulling like that? Ive never really knew when that would be optimum to use.

If the mule has the expanded metal divider between the bed and the seat....take that **** thing out. They pull like a parachute with a roof and that thing. You can do it either way, but life is easier without that thing.

This all really depends on the terrain. We haul a 16 foot tandem axle trailer with a John Deere 825i, Grizzly 450 and an entire deer blind taken apart leaned against each side of the gator and it pulls like a dream. This is pulled with my dad's 1/2 ton 2wd crew cab Silverado. He has the 5.3 with the 5 speed transmission. We pull it from Galveston to Winnie for bird hunting and Galveston to Lufkin for deer hunting without using tow haul mode on the truck. If you're doing a lot of starting and stopping yeah use the tow haul because it will help with taking off from the lights, but if it's majority highway driving at cruising speed don't use it because your truck won't shift into overdrive and will stay in fourth and run in the 2000 to 2100 rpm range. Without tow/haul on if you're on flat ground doing 65 you'll be in OD around 1500 to 1600 rpm.
