    Mud Motor Question

I may get more responses on another forum but figured I'd try here.

I'm trying to sell a kayak to build a mud motor with a 6.5hp 212cc Predator and one of the 2-7hp mud motor kits.

The boat it'll go on will be a 13 foot river hawk. Any idea how fast that thing will go with 2 guys +gear? I'm gonna be awfully close to the weight limit. If I can get 10mph I'll be happy.

I would think it'd be redlining to go that fast, if you're lucky..

      How wide is the boat?

Well its either that or finding a used 10hp outboard. For the times that I'm solo I'd think that mud motor would work. The boat itself only weighs around 100lbs.

Don't think you'll get 10mph out of a smaller mud motor

Loaded down, my buddy gets around 18mph on 1648, with a 24hp long tail.

We have a 16'x48" with a 15hp mud motor, 2 guys, guns, decoys, and a dog, 12mph is top speed.

It wont be fast but on the plus side with just a little work that rig will disappear in the salt grass.
