Broadhead question for low poundage bow

Taking the girl friend down to the lease this weekend, more and likely, to try and stick a pig. She currently is set up with a Diamond Infinit Edge with a draw weight right at 35lbs +/- 1 pound. I'd really like here to get to 40 pounds before she attempts to stick a deer but this weekend I want to she how she fairs against a oinker.

That being said I purchased her 100 grain 3 Blade Muzzy's to fling and was curious if that was a good choice? These are what I shoot and figured with the little KE she'll have that a mechanical is a no no. Am I correct? Just want to give her the best opportunity at finding whatever she sticks.

    Thanks in advance amigos

I would think a heavier bh would help add some smack

My wife shoots at 35 pounds and only 25" draw. I have her set up with 85gr. stingers with the bleeders. Awesome heads and she's gotten pass thru's on all but 1 deer and that one, a spike was steep quartering and it lodged in off side shoulder. He died (quite dramatically with a back-flip on video). There are lots of good heads, for low poundage but that Muzzy is not one of them. You need a fixed blade cut on contact head. The "Trick" heads are not coc except the razor trick and it might be OK. It does have a rather steep cutting angle and that can consume a lot of energy on impact with the target. The longer sweep of the Stinger will likely give you better penetration.

I would think a two bladed head would penetrate deeper. I don't generally like two blade heads, but there is less resistance to slow the arrow down on impact.

i used to shoot a fixed 2 blade, not great blood trails. so i m right there with you on them. i would look for a 3 blade, limit distance and shot angles.

Shot will be within 15 yards (hoping for 10-12 yards) and defiantly broadside or quartering away

Also any Slick Trick dealers in College Station?

Hellrazors are a good COC head. I shot them when I was shooting much lower poundage because of a bum shoulder. Definitely one of the sharpest broad heads right out of the package and they fly great.

Man try VPA's they make two blade and three blade true COC heads that cant be beat. And in all weights, Truly check them out. Don't be afraid for her to try the three blade either, they penetrate better then a lot of two blade heads.

edit: they have pink ones to
