    Shot Out Ranch

    Hi guys.
I just returned from a hunt inwhich the ranch had been shot out of most of the animals I had paid to hunt. Does anyone know if I have any recourse against the manager? I was not told until our arrival at the ranch, that he did not have the animals available. A simple telephone call could of eliminated a lot of hurt and angry feelings. Thanks for any help!

I'm sorry to hear about that. I'm no lawyer, but if you have a contract you might have some recourse. Otherwise all you can do is give him bad publicity.

Where is the place. The only silice you might have is knowing that no one else got hosed.

You can't sell someone something you don't have. That is called FRAUD.

I talked with him earlier and he said he checked out all the hunting reports on this ranch, most which were positive reports.

I just got a PM from him and I gotta be honest.....I was totally shocked at what outfit he hunted with. It ain't right by no means in my mind, but I only have 1/2 the story on this. The outfit is always highly recommended on here....something bad wrong with the whole situation. I have never hunted there but I trust you guys judgement big time. Maybe things have changed drastically with there management folks???? I truly hope they do the honorable thing if it warrants action!

This time of year its common to be shot out, but to not tell you or warn you is not right.

I got a PM to, and I agree with Landrover 100%.

Warren, if you will, reply on here. With all the knowledge floating around on this board, we'll help you figure out a solution ... if there is one.

                      Texastaxi,
I want to thank all of you guys for your comments and realize no one knows me and the other side of the coin. A simple telephone call could of save alot of bad feelings and lost money. I had never read a bad review on this web site of the ranch in question. I wasn't told that most of his exotics had been shot out by previous hunters and he was unable to find replacements, until we had made the long drives [15 &26 hours]. I thought that clients should of received more respect that we had received. If anyone has suggestions please contact me. This was my first exotic hunt and sure will not be my last one. My family grew up with a bow in their hands so everyone knows the challenges we endure "bowhunting"!!! I never thought that I would have to endure a dishonest outfitter.
Thanks guys, good luck out there and be safe!!!!!

IF the manager or owner of the ranch told you that the ranch was shot out and that he did not have the game as advertised then YES you have a case....IF not then it is very hard to get any retribution...sorry to say but you might be SOL.

I am interested in the outfitter as well. That doesn't sound right at all.
